On November 12, 2021, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine appointed The Patient’s Podium’s Founder, Executive Director, and Board-Certified Patient Advocate Nichole Davis to the position of Council Member to the Ohio Statewide Independent Living Council (Ohio SILC).
Per the Governor's Office Press Release, Davis will serve during the 2021-2024 term.
The purpose of Ohio SILC is to "engage in advocacy efforts that
impact the barriers that individuals with significant disabilities encounter. The efforts will
primarily focus on the areas of housing, transportation, and health care, but additional focus
areas may be added as the needs of the disability community change or new priorities develop".
Davis is honored and excited to be provided a new platform to serve people with disabilities to the best of her ability!
We look forward to her service to the State of Ohio and to the disability community over the coming term.
